I'm a flats/Mary-Jane/chunky t-strap heel girl, but this ridiculous shoe calls to me like the Sirens called Odysseus. It appeared in numerous fashion mags over the winter, as designers began to replicate and imitate Prada's subversive Spanish lace looks for Fall/Winter 2008. (For the record, critics and fashion writers gave the line that sinister label. I'm seeing lace as sweet and mysterious, but then who am I? A broke chick who casually studies fashion.)
What draws me is the lace and pearls combination, and the fact that the wearer must teeter on the pearly-platform sole, taking small, light steps. She obviously doesn't have to walk in dirty, grimy, or rough places. Shoe-gasm!

Anyway, I made the mistake of clicking on my own blog and saw its issues. I'm just acknowledging the imperfections of it all.
